First Lady

Pamela K. Daniels

First Lady Bio

Pamela K. Grant-Daniels was born on August 8, 1968 to Tommy and Carolyn Grant.  However she was raised by her Great-grand Mother from a very early age.  She studied at Foster Elementary, Cullen Middle School, and graduated from Jack Yates High School in the class of 86 (Go Lions).  She also attended Texas Southern University, Houston Community College, and Contra Costa Community College in California majoring in Accounting and Music.
Her first job was at the age of 9 years old playing for a church in the 3rd Ward section of Houston.  Later she was placed on payroll and became the youth musician for her home church Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church playing for Sunday School, BTU, and the Youth Choir.  She played for various churches in the Houston area while attend school and working for Texas Southern Insurance Company.
She later met and married the Love of her life, Rev. Robert E. Daniels, Sr. in 1987.  Shortly after, she joined The Garden of Gethsemane Baptist Church to be with her husband and Father-In-Law (Rev. Richard E. Daniels) who was then the pastor. She played for “The Garden” choirs until her husband was called to Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Rosenberg, Texas.  They were there for about 5 years where she was the musician for the churches’ various choirs, a Sunday School teacher, Youth Matron and Director of Vacation Bible School.  She also started working for Houston Community College in 1987 and remained there until they moved to Oakland, California in 2000.
Her husband, Pastor Daniels, was then called to be the pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Oakland, CA. in 2000.  They were at Bethany for 3 years.  After that, she and her family were faced with the dilemma of returning back home to Houston, or remaining in California. God led her husband to organized and combine with Temple of Peace Baptist Church where he remained their pastor from 2003 to March 2008.  She redeems her stay in California as a wonderful blessing from God since her biological mother (Carolyn) moved there in the late 70’s.  She was able to reunite with her mother and reestablish a relationship until her mother’s death in 2007. At that time, she was employed at Contra Costa Community College until they moved back to Houston in 2008.
On March 9, 2008 her husband was called as the third Pastor of Garden of Gethsemane Baptist Church where his father served as pastor for 37 years.  She currently serves as Musician for all choirs at “The Garden,” teacher for New Member Orientation Class, teacher for Women of Destiny, alternate Sunday School teacher, member of Deaconess and Minister Wives ministry, and Youth Department worker along with the AWANA program. She is also a musician and director for the Central Texas Youth Gospel Workshop.
Sis. Pam Daniels and Pastor Daniels have been happily married for 24 years and she is the proud mother of three children: Brittanae 22, Bryanna 10, and Robert Jr 9. She contributes most of her Christian upbringing to her Great-grandmother, Mrs. Rosie Lee Slider who passed in January 2011 at the age of 93.  Her great-grandmother instilled great values and educated her in the way of Christ.  Being a pastor’s wife and musician herself, Mrs. Slider was able to teach from experiences in her own life.
Sis. Daniels says that out of all of her attributes and accomplishments, none of which means anything without Christ as her personal SAVIOR. He is the HEAD of her life.
Her favorite scripture is Psalms 37: 23-25 which says:
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Her favorite motto: Some people don’t know that Jesus is all the need, until He is all they have.
